Something About December

Not yet December, but this makes it feel like Christmas is in front of me. :)

I long for the days to type well here.. but can’t decide yet what and when. Until then, I’ll be busy sorting out things and living the break.

Mistletoes and twinkling roofs.

Love like this, may come once.. baby it’s fate, not luck.

Hello beautiful people,

My last post was about Christina Perri’s new single; Distance. And I don’t know what got into me, but I have been listening to her tune ever since. Soon after doing some researches, turns out she is having a tour. To Asia. And to Singapore. Bazinga!

Thus, tonight I was attending Christina Perri’s Live In Singapore show, and I can say I’m a happy penguin leaving the show :) She was so beautiful, tiny, and gorgeous. Her band was equally amazing, the drummer, bass, guitar, and keyboard. All the songs were performed beautifully, although I think she was a little unwell (stalking twitter and Instagram).  When she performed “The Lonely”, “A Thousand Years” and “Jar of Hearts”,  I let out little tears because of the lyrics. Some people are blessed with talents, but not all are blessed with the ability to touch people’s heart. And I think Christina has pulled off both perfectly. She’s a joy to watch and listen to.  If only I was closer, if only I found out about the concert sooner, if only I decided to grab the ticket without waiting for any friend to show up magically and go with me (I ended up going solo anyway), if only…

Christina was so fun, she asked to remove the barriers between stage and audience and let the “first floor” audience to mosh up in front of the stage. I swear I was so pissed to myself at that moment.. sat on the balcony seat and just watched her interacting with the moshers. Few times I think I almost jumped off my seats and just rush down to the stairs and scramble to the stage. From then on I think I decided that I am not a seated-concert person. If I really have to go for one, I’ll really need to calculate all the possibilities and pro cons for best seat (definitely first floor, no matter what).  Still, lesson learnt. I have another concert by the end of the month, and for Mr. A-Z I am determined to be on front row.

She didn’t perform Penguin. Would love to see her singing the song live. My favorite track from Lovestrong.

Ah, story of Penguin. According to Wikipedia, Penguin is an aquaticflightless bird living almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere, especially in Antarctica and penguins form monogamous pairs for a breeding season“. Shortly said, every penguin will only mate with one of the other. That’s it. They will stick together no matter what until they die. I think it is a wonderful background for such honest love song. :)

And by the way, I recently posted about  Iron and Wine’s “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” song. I wonder if the song has any connection to Penguin as well? The chorus is “Have I found you, flightless bird?”  If it’s true, then my life will never be the same again. The power of Penguin!

That’s all for now. It was a wonderful, magical, very heart warming Friday. Listen to more love songs, and let the love words fill the heart.  :)

Penguin for the win.
